The injection contains 1% deoxycholic acid (DCA) which works to destroy fat cells in the tissue. This treatment is carried out using a cannula and can be done anywhere on the face or body where there is unwanted fat. Common treatment areas include:

It is a relatively painless treatment, and a numbing agent is used at the entry point of injection.
